As is the tradition when Shihan Mady visits, promotions were held the Friday night and setting a new record only took 4 hours to complete with 1 hour of deliberation. With a very very strong showing every individual testing clearly demonstrated they were not only of the skill required but well above it!
Promotions to Nidan (2nd Degree Black): Jesse Hill, Timo Tikka, Simeon Ostap and Rachel McGovern.
Promotion to Shodan: Kyle MacAskill
Promotions to Ikkyu (1st Brown): John Naimian, Hayley Tennier, Jordan Tennier, and Huyen Gilmore.

Marlen Figueroa of the Chibushi Dojo, Thunder Bay, ON competed in Wrestling at the Canada Games and earned a silver medal. Marlen did great and just narrowly missed getting the gold.
